As an internet marketer, press release creation and their distribution is no doubt apart of my routine. I perform regular optimized press release services for my clients. I started off with a small collection of press release distribution sites, but have since expanded this to include several more. I have compiled this list of 73 free press release distribution sites and have used all of the sites listed myself. If you know of additional sites, feel free to add them in the comments.

Some of the sites have updated to pay. As I no longer am the one doing the manual press release submissions (have others handling this aspect), I would appreciate any feedback on which should be removed from this list.

I just found your web site for the first time and I think it is marvelous — an extremely valuable, well written and well thoughout presentation. Your list is a very good tool also and the comments very enlightening. I learned a lot. I just added you to my favorites and will be back.
Fantastic List and I shall save it for reference. For a Non-profit organization a free press release is worth gold at times.
There are also newer services, such as Blogg.io, now avaialble which are good ways for a small business to promote their PR to blogs and get some buzz happening.
A very good list but does anyone else have the same problem as me as in suferring from writers block. I have had too many articles turned down due to them saying they are similar to others on the internet. When I ask which ones, it is always my own articles!

Wow I haven’t see such list in a long time. I know that this is not yesterday’s post, but I need to comment it. Press release sites are something that I admire a lot and use them to my SEO efforts very often. I must say also that few of those sites look a little bit trust unworthy… But maybe something changed since January? It’s almost a year now…

Nice list and thanks especially for the tech specific ones, they will fit in great for my sort of sites. I’ve never bothered with press releases but I’ve recently noticed a few of my competitors getting links from such sites so it’s got to be worthwhile.
These are some really good PR sites for people to take a look at. The additional sites are good also and I like how you set up this post also. It’s easy to read and does’t confuse your visitors at all.

Some of these sites if you have a well optimized press release your PR could show up under google search under “news”. This is a great way for more exposure.

Just a reminder for would be Press Release Submitters…To encourage people to read your press release, it must be newsworthy and not read like an advertisement. I’ve seen some great Releases and then I’ve seen some bad ones.
They can provide you with a good amount of traffic and backlinks for your effort.

Hi there! I just found this list, but see that it is already more than a year old. How relevant is this at present, and are there any new ones to consider over and above these press release distribution sites?
Maybe a follow-up blog post with updated information could be a good idea? It is bound to get a good response! Then which one of these sites are the most valuable in terms of viewers / visitors? That could also be a great extra to add to a follow-up post.
