As an internet marketer, press release creation and their distribution is no doubt apart of my routine. I perform regular optimized press release services for my clients. I started off with a small collection of press release distribution sites, but have since expanded this to include several more. I have compiled this list of 73 free press release distribution sites and have used all of the sites listed myself. If you know of additional sites, feel free to add them in the comments.

Not sure what you mean, you can use them all. Some are going through some issues though (maleabits) for example, as well as a couple others. However, you should still check back on them in the future as they will surely straighten out their issues sooner or later.

I just re-organized the list to now have 73 functional sites. As I am regularly issuing press releases, I’ll continuously be updating this list. Often times there’s a mistake that “duplicate content” refers to other sites having the same information. The duplicate content penalty comes into effect when you have the same content (titles, meta descriptions, articles) within the same site. I always release the press releases to all of the sites, but you can also play around with different titles and what not if you’d like as well to pick up on multiple keywords that you might target.
I would be very happy if you could include RushPRnews, a newswire and press release distribution service that I launched in 2006.

Anyone have only UK based PR website list?
I have used one site over and over again that is not on your list. They do a fantastic job. Their customer support is great. If you email them with a question and leave contact information for them, they call you within 5 minutes of the email. Never been dissapointed with their services. Of course you have provided a really nice list of PR sites..but I would like to draw your kind attention that many of them are paid PR sites.. I was trying to submit my PR article to that list, and I found some of them are paid
and the price is too high.
Some of the sites have updated to pay. As I no longer am the one doing the manual press release submissions (have others handling this aspect), I would appreciate any feedback on which should be removed from this list.

Fantastic List and I shall save it for reference. For a Non-profit organization a free press release is worth gold at times.
There are also newer services, such as Blogg.io, now avaialble which are good ways for a small business to promote their PR to blogs and get some buzz happening.
A very good list but does anyone else have the same problem as me as in suferring from writers block. I have had too many articles turned down due to them saying they are similar to others on the internet. When I ask which ones, it is always my own articles!

Nice list and thanks especially for the tech specific ones, they will fit in great for my sort of sites. I’ve never bothered with press releases but I’ve recently noticed a few of my competitors getting links from such sites so it’s got to be worthwhile.

Some of these sites if you have a well optimized press release your PR could show up under google search under “news”. This is a great way for more exposure.

Actually, press releases are a good way of getting quality backlinks to your website as far as article directories. Of course, there are a lot of other methods of ink building, like blog commenting or forum posting, but there is no guarantee that you comment will be published. Though, if you write a good article with releavant content and don’t violate any rules, your article or press release will be published and you will be able to get a new good link from reliable source.

Do you feel that press release articles are a worth-while part of an SEO campaign? I’ve heard mixed opinions and haven’t explored the method personally so far. I’d really appreciate your opinion on this. I’ve found that some methods folks recommend (like article marketing) don’t seem to have a worthwhile ROI in terms of time invested.
I do, but as a PART of an overall campaign. For example, with our clients we ALWAYS use a PR to introduce them as a client. In this PR there is a link to their website, as well as ours. It is mutually beneficial. From there, we don’t focus on writing them very often and instead work towards writing articles, blogs, etc.

Hi, I do think that the list has to be reviewed, I have followed some links (in the comments provided, some people list additional sites for PR) and gotten to sites that don’t let you publish PR, this must be link spamming on this thread…

I tried some first sites from the list and didn’t get any result – I mean I didn’t see my press releases on the sites. It’s a pity that I’ve spent a few hours to write the releases and to register on these sites.
It is definitely do for an update, as I have done some things differently over the past couple of years!
